Nu was the only Latin American company to appear in the ranking, joining the Titans category along with companies such as Apple, Disney, and Netflix.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">David V\u00e9lez at TIME100: customers at the center of everything we do<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Colombian by birth, the triggering moment for David to start a financial institution in Brazil was very simple: moving to the country and realizing how complex, bureaucratic and unfair the Brazilian banking system was.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Along with Cristina and Ed, he laid the foundations for what would become a financial institution that puts customers at the center of everything \u2013 from product development to providing caring, humane customer service.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nubank currently serves almost 60 million people and is present in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our estimate is that we have already saved Brazilians around US$ 1 billion in abusive fees and rescued them from 113 million hours in branch queues.
