Marina Morgado, Staff Product Operations at Nu Brazil, is an inspiring example of how internal transitions enrich a career. She began her journey at Nubank in the Payments team, where she learned to define processes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

With the team’s internal reorganization to manage Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) and Payments, Marina gained broader insights into scalability in services and operations while tackling resource constraint challenges.

In her second transition, to the Growth team, Marina developed strategic skills in partnerships and service integrations with external partners. She excelled in analyzing results and implementing new measurement formats. After returning from maternity leave, she took on a leadership role in an Acquisition team, further honing her strategic management and planning capabilities.

Today, after her third transition—this time to the Planning and Special Projects team—Marina focuses on financial results and overall business impact. Each stage of her journey reflects learning, growth, and contribution, reinforcing Nubank’s values of ownership and positive impact.

From specialization to leadership: Rubén Rosas’ growth at Nu Mexico

At Nubank, some journeys show how determination and learning can turn challenges into great opportunities. Rubén Rosas’ story began in Xforce, a sector that works with investments and processes. However, in September 2022, he decided to explore new opportunities and took on the role of Supervisor of Regulatory Solutions, transitioning from the Operations team to a new Business Unit.

In this role, he specialized in anti-money laundering, earned important certifications, and expanded his strategic vision. Soon after, Rubén became Coordinator of Regulatory Solutions, tackling challenges such as new processes, tools, and responsibilities. He overcame these obstacles with internal mentorship, courses, and a proactive mindset—acting like an owner, not a tenant.

His dedication demonstrated that, with the right resources, professional growth and contributing to a fairer, more innovative financial world are possible. Today, Rubén works strategically, blending technical knowledge and leadership to drive his team’s success. Lina Contreras started her career at Nubank in the Xpeer chapter (dedicated to customer service), spending a year deeply learning about operations and business in Colombia. During this time, she internalized the essence of putting the customer at the center of every decision and understood the impact of providing human and transparent service. These experiences shaped her vision of adding value to people and strengthening the brand authentically.

This learning made her career transition to the Marketing team, as Brand Manager, feel natural. Lina delved into the brand’s strategic communication, helping to connect Nubank’s proposition to the lives of Colombians in a genuine way. Recently, upon becoming Marketing Manager, Lina expanded her impact by exploring new engagement approaches, sponsorships, and cultural initiatives. She is one of the leaders behind Nu’s innovative ways of connecting with its audience.

Overcoming challenges, like taking on new roles and embracing constant learning, was essential to her evolution. Today, Lina helps build Nu’s marketing in Colombia and continues working to create her legacy of growth and impact.
