Applications for the 2026 Nu Mexico Internship Program will be open from January 27 to February 13. And if you’re looking for more than a traditional internship, this program could be the first big step in your career.

At Nu, an internship is not just a learning period. It’s a full immersion experience into our culture, our teams, and the way we build solutions for millions of people. From day one, interns work on real projects, actively participate in decisions, and learn with close support.

What does it mean to be an intern at Nu?

Being an intern at Nu means truly being part of the team. There’s no such thing as “just observing.” Interns collaborate, propose ideas, ask questions, and contribute every single day.

One thing people who are already part of the program consistently highlight is the environment. It’s a place where it’s safe to ask questions, where there’s always someone willing to help, and where learning isn’t an occasional expectation. It’s a constant.

“People make you feel at ease. If you don’t know something, you can ask and move forward. That kind of support builds confidence and creates space to grow.”
Tania Valdez, Intern at Nu

“From very early on, you realize that your work matters and that you’re part of something bigger. You can really see the impact. Even as an intern, you feel like you contribute to Nu’s day-to-day work, and that’s incredibly motivating.”

Learn, communicate, and don’t be afraid

The program is designed for you to learn by doing. That means facing real challenges, working with people from different areas, and, of course, making mistakes along the way.

At Nu, open communication and collaboration are key. Solving problems as a team, asking questions, and proposing solutions are part of everyday work.

“Don’t be afraid to express yourself or to make mistakes.”
Daniela Munguía, Intern at Nu

“Constantly learning from more experienced people makes all the difference. Keeping a positive attitude toward any challenge is essential to making the most of the internship.”
Jesús Zárate, Intern at Nu

Our selection process

The selection process for the Nu Mexico Internship Program consists of five elimination stages. All of them are designed to get to know you better and understand how your profile fits with your chosen area and with our culture.

  1. Application: This is the first step in the process. When applying, you’ll need to indicate your first area of interest and a second option. Our team will primarily evaluate your first choice, but the second may also be considered before moving on to the next stages.
  2. Online assessments: If you meet the initial requirements, you’ll receive a technical or aptitude assessment by email. We’ll let you know in advance the deadline and all the details you need to plan accordingly.
  3. Group activity: This stage is not a competition. It’s a collaborative space where you’ll take part in an exercise that simulates the day-to-day work at Nu Mexico and the real challenges of the area you applied for.
  4. Interview with a Nu Mexico leader: At this stage, we want to learn more about your background, how you work, and your interest in the selected area. If necessary, we’ll dive deeper into specific aspects related to the role.
  5. Interview with the recruiting team: Here, we’ll talk about your career path and expectations and, if needed, conduct an additional technical deep dive.

The specific details of each stage may vary depending on your area of interest, such as the type of assessment or technical exercise. At every stage, you’ll receive detailed information by email so you know exactly what to expect.

Areas of opportunity in 2026

In this edition of the program, you’ll be able to grow in different areas depending on your interests and skills. To make your choice easier during the application process, we’ve organized opportunities into Technology and Corporate Areas, with a brief description of each team’s day-to-day work.

Technology

Analytics Engineering: This team transforms large volumes of data into reliable and accessible information for the entire company. Interns support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, collaborate with engineering and analytics teams, and build solutions that enable data-driven business decisions.

Business Analytics: Here, data turns into insights that guide strategic decisions. Interns analyze information, identify which data is most relevant in different contexts, and support decision-making — even when not all information is available. They also work with tools like SQL and Python and learn how Nu’s products connect to the business.

Product Operations: This area ensures that products are executed efficiently from launch through evolution. Interns support process definition, monitor product performance, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and analyze opportunities for improvement based on data and user feedback.

Software Engineering: This is where the technological solutions that power Nu’s products are built. Interns collaborate with product and design teams to implement new features, write and optimize code using modern languages, and solve real technical challenges. Work is done using agile methodologies, with a focus on quality, scalability, and security.

Corporate Areas

Audit: This area conducts internal audits to ensure transparent and efficient processes. Interns support audit execution, risk and control analysis, report preparation, and the identification of improvement opportunities, also using data analysis to detect patterns and potential risks.

Controllership & Tax: This team ensures financial strength and accounting and tax compliance. Interns support the analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, collaborate on internal audits, tax investigations, and control processes, and work with teams to ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations.

Legal, Compliance & Public Policy: This team works to ensure operations align with laws, regulations, and public policies. Interns support contract analysis, compliance policy implementation, legal and regulatory risk management, and collaborate with the Public Policy team to understand regulatory impacts on the market.

Marketing: This area builds the Nu brand and creates campaigns and experiences that connect with customers. Interns take part in executing marketing initiatives, collaborate with different teams and stakeholders, and analyze results to continuously improve the impact of each project.

Risk: The focus here is on protecting the integrity and security of operations. Interns participate in identifying and analyzing operational, financial, and regulatory risks, collaborate on defining controls and policies, and work with different areas to assess risks related to new products and initiatives.

In the application form, you’ll find more information about each area. When applying, you’ll need to choose a first and a second area of interest so we can better understand your profile and preferences.
