Innovation as a result of solving real problems

At Nubank, we don’t chase innovation for the sake of it—we focus on solving real problems, and innovation follows.

“Our secret isn’t wanting to innovate”, says Mario Souto, Software Engineer. “It’s wanting to solve problems. When we do that, innovation is a consequence. Understanding the customer’s pain and what needs to be improved is what really matters.”

That mindset leads to products that truly make a difference. One example is NuBraille, a project aimed at making our card more inclusive for visually impaired customers.

“NuBraille was a very challenging project because we had a technical limitation on the size of the card”, explains Carolina Azevedo, Design Manager. “It was a very important step toward making our customers’ daily lives more inclusive. We had to work hard with the factory to get the quality, relief, and spacing right. Today, because we can print our customers’ names in Braille, we really make a difference to the lives of our visually impaired customers”.
