The traditional TIME100 list is published annually to recognize the impact, innovation, and achievements of people who are helping to shape the world around them. According to the magazine, the list is ″a community of leaders whose energy and commitment, we hope, will inspire others to take action as well.″
Also in 2022, we had already appeared in another list of the magazine – that of the most influential companies in the world, for the second consecutive year. Nu was the only Latin American company to appear in the ranking, joining the Titans category along with companies such as Apple, Disney, and Netflix.
David Vélez at TIME100: customers at the center of everything we do
A Colombian by birth, the triggering moment for David to start a financial institution in Brazil was very simple: moving to the country and realizing how complex, bureaucratic and unfair the Brazilian banking system was.
Along with Cristina and Ed, he laid the foundations for what would become a financial institution that puts customers at the center of everything – from product development to providing caring, humane customer service.
Our estimate is that we have already saved Brazilians around US$ 1 billion in abusive fees and rescued them from 113 million hours in branch queues. And that’s just the beginning.
To all of our customers: thank you very much for yet another recognition.
