Learning

Learning will be a constant from day one. You’ll participate in a series of onboarding trainings that will help you develop essential technical skills for your BA role, such as programming, test design, and experimentation.

Additionally, you’ll join strategic sessions with your team to understand the work dynamics, key topics discussed, and Nubank’s priorities.

The Importance of the Buddy

From the beginning, you’ll have the support of a Buddy, who will be with you throughout the onboarding process. Buddies are typically people on your team who are on a similar or close career level as you. They are key to your joining experience and will not only introduce you to your team and the tools you’ll use daily, but also be a valuable source of knowledge about Nubank’s culture, internal events, and best practices.

Your Buddy will always be available to answer questions, both about work and the company’s culture.

Support Network and Open Communication

Nubank values a culture of open communication and mutual support. In addition to your Buddy, you’ll have access to managers, your team, and affinity groups to ensure you have all the resources you need to thrive.

Regular check-ins with your direct manager will be part of this process, allowing you to discuss your progress, align expectations, and receive constructive feedback.

A Dynamic and Customizable Onboarding

Nubank’s onboarding process extends over 90 days, and during this time, you are expected to be the protagonist of your learning journey.

This means you’ll have the freedom to explore the resources available, personalizing your development pace according to your needs and interests. Asking questions, challenging the status quo, and bringing new ideas are not only encouraged—they are expected.

Training Structured Around Three Pillars

Nubank offers a wide range of materials and training sessions, which can be divided into three main pillars:

  1. Technical Skills: Development in areas like programming, test design, and experimentation, with practical workshops using tools and languages such as Scala, SQL, and Databricks.
  2. Culture and Values: Sessions dedicated to immersing you in Nubank’s values and culture, with stories and practical examples of how these principles are applied daily.
  3. Processes and Tools: Familiarization with agile methodologies, data analysis tools, and collaboration platforms like Jira, Slack, and Confluence, which are essential for a Business Analyst’s work.

The Starter Project and Hands-On Learning

At the end of your onboarding, you’ll be challenged with your first formal project: your Starter Project. This project has a well-defined scope and clear deliverables, providing a practical opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during training.

It’s a fundamental step in consolidating your learning and accelerating your development in the role.

Continuous Learning

At Nubank, learning doesn’t stop at onboarding. New tools, processes, and products are always emerging, keeping pace with market and technology advancements.

We value continuous learning and mentorship programs, regular feedback, and contributions to the BA area are consistently encouraged.

The Path to Success

Taking every opportunity to learn and not being afraid to ask for help are essential qualities for succeeding at Nubank. The work environment is highly collaborative, and asking questions is part of the culture.

That’s why relying on the support of your managers and colleagues to receive feedback on your progress is crucial for healthy development aligned with the role’s expectations.

Your onboarding will be the first step on a journey full of achievement and success. After all, this is what working at Nubank is all about!
