For Elves Sampaio, Xmart (Nu’s version of customer support), working at Nu is about creating moments that matter. “When a customer reaches out, it’s not just about fixing an issue; it’s about understanding their story and making them feel heard”, he says. “That’s how we turn a simple interaction into a memorable experience”.

Elves’ journey to Nu began as a dream. “I always wanted to work here”, he shares. “When I saw people posting their ‘Day One’ stories on LinkedIn, I knew I had to be part of this. And when I finally joined, it was everything I imagined—and more”.

What stood out most to Elves was Nu’s genuine commitment to its customers. “It’s not just talk”, he explains. “We truly care about providing an unique experience, from start to finish. Customers know they’ll be treated with empathy and sincerity”.

For Rodrigo Batista, Financial Crime Risk Manager, working at Nu is like competing in the Olympics—every day brings a new challenge, and every solution feels like a gold medal. “Challenging the status quo is a daily sport here”, he says with a laugh. “If there were medals for innovation, we’d be on the podium every time”.

Rodrigo’s journey to Nu was driven by a desire to work for a company that values bold thinking and data-driven creativity. “At Nu, no matter how crazy an idea is, if it’s backed by data, it will be heard”, he explains. 

One of his proudest moments was leading a project on geolocation data, which quickly became a priority for the mobile platform team. “We saw potential where others hadn’t explored yet,” he says. “That’s the Nu way—we reinvent solutions, not just solve problems.”

Rodrigo also highlights how Nu brings together talented individuals from around the globe—multiple nationalities brainstorming solutions and envisioning new approaches. “Outside-the-box is our normal”, he adds, underscoring our collective refusal to settle for “the way things have always been done”.

What really inspires Rodrigo,is the impact of his work. “In risk management, we’re not just protecting accounts; we’re protecting people’s lives”, he says. “Knowing that my work helps keep customers safe is what keeps me moving forward. At Nu, we’re building trust”.
